Ongoing support

Pay-as-you-go maintenance. No retainer, ever.

£13 / hour · £100 / day

Most studios put you on a monthly plan whether you need one or not. We do the opposite: you pay £13 an hour for the work you actually ask for, and if a job runs to a full eight-hour day it caps at £100. Nothing to cancel, nothing rolling over, no minimum spend.

Work out what a job would cost

Drag to the number of hours you think you need. The day rate is applied automatically whenever it works out cheaper than counting hours.

06 inclusions

01

Fixed quote up front

Every project is quoted as a fixed figure before work starts, and that quote is held for 30 days. No hourly creep on build work.

02

Figma designs first

You see and approve the design before a line of production code is written, so nothing is a surprise at handover.

03

Technical SEO on every page

Structured data, semantic markup, meta and Open Graph tags, sitemap and robots configuration — as standard, not an upsell.

04

Core Web Vitals tuning

Responsive images, sensible bundles and lazy loading, so the site scores well on the metrics Google actually ranks on.

05

Accessibility baseline

Keyboard navigation, visible focus, sensible contrast, reduced-motion support and real alt text on every image.

06

Full ownership on payment

All bespoke code and design assets transfer to you when the final invoice is settled. No licence, no lock-in.

There is no retainer and no monthly fee. When you need work doing, we log the time and bill it at £13 per hour. If a job runs to a full day, it caps at the £100 day rate covering eight hours — whichever works out cheaper for you is the one you pay. Time logs are available on request.

No minimum spend and no minimum block. A ten-minute copy change is billed as a fraction of the hourly rate, not rounded up to some arbitrary unit. You pay for engineering that actually happened.

Eight hours at £13 comes to £104, so any block of eight hours or more is billed at the £100 day rate automatically. You never have to ask for it — we apply whichever is lower.

Anything the site needs: content and copy updates, new pages or sections, bug fixes, dependency and security updates, performance tuning, SEO adjustments, seasonal design refreshes and new feature work. Hosting issues on builds we host are not billed.

No. You own the code outright on final payment, so you are free to take it elsewhere or handle it in-house. Maintenance exists because most clients would rather not — not because you are tied in.

A deposit of 30–50% is agreed in the written quote and paid before work commences. The balance is due on completion, before final files and credentials are handed over. Larger projects can be split into milestone payments instead.

Hosting is included at no extra cost on every package, on the same infrastructure this site runs on. There is no bandwidth meter and no upsell waiting at month three. The honest caveat is that it covers standard website hosting — a project needing something unusual, such as heavy video delivery or a dedicated database instance, would carry that third-party cost, and it would be itemised in your quote before you agree to anything.

For larger projects, yes. A deposit of 30–50% starts the work and the balance is due on completion, but anything at the upper end can be split into milestone payments agreed in writing at the outset — typically tied to design sign-off, build completion and launch. Ask when you request your quote and it will be built into the figure you receive.

For comparable small-business work, yes. Typical UK agency quotes for a bespoke five-page site sit around £3,000–£8,000 with a monthly retainer on top. The saving comes from being a sole trader with no account managers, no sales team and no office to pay for — not from cutting corners on the build.

No. EB Web Services UK operates as a sole trader below the VAT threshold, so all prices quoted are the prices you pay. All figures are in pounds sterling.
